Hey, this is Bobby Baskaran. I'm a marketer for more than 25 years. This is the second part of how to build a strong personal brand and why it's important. In this part, I'm going to talk about the 3 steps to use to build your brand. How to define what makes you unique and how to be consistent. So, how do you build this amazing personal brand? Well, step 1, define your brand, right? Think about what makes you unique and what you want to be known for. For me, the way I approach a personal brand is making sure I provide insights on marketing, making sure I provide information and intelligence that people can actually use in their marketing and in very, very short bite-sized chunks. I don't try to sell myself too hard. I'm happy to talk authentically about how I've used certain marketing strategies to solve various problems for the various businesses that I've worked with. That's kind of how I do it. I just do it in a very easy to understand way that makes people want to listen to what I have to say. So, I think it's essential to identify your unique value proposition. What sets you apart from others and then do that. I know that sounds like it might be a difficult thing, but it's not really. It's like what is the person you want to be known for personally? Who's that kind of person you want to be known for? Go with that. I want it to be known as a person that could solve problems with regards to not just marketing, but just problems in general. I like being that person that is called on for that or people call me for that. I use that for my marketing as well. People are like being known as the person that can solve a marketing problem. So step two, consistency is key. Your messaging should be like a catchy song. Same across all the platforms, whether it's your social media profiles, your website, your business cards. Everything should tell the same story. Don't kind of mix up too many different kind of messages or value propositions. Kind of be clear, narrow it down and you should be able to tell people who you are in 30 seconds or less. If you're having trouble articulating yourself, you know, what your values and who you are as a person and what your personal value is in 30 seconds, it means you haven't really got it clear. So maybe try and kind of articulate that first and to yourself. Write it down and try and define what your value is. What are you wanting to be known for? Take some time to think about that first and then you'll easily be able to, you know, articulate that to people when they ask you. It's like a typical elevator introduction. Can you actually introduce yourself and present what your value is to people in just 30 seconds? Try doing that. And the way I do that from a marketing point of view, if someone asks me what I do is I say, I'm a marketing specialist. I've been one for 25 years and I work with businesses of all types to help them attract and retain the customers. And that's it. That's all I say. You know, I don't go into details of, you know, I use these specific channels and I'm a digital, I use digital marketing and da da da da. I don't say any of that. I just, you know, this is all I do. And that kind of helps people, helps people understand what I do. And if we get the opportunity to go into more detail, I will, but otherwise I stop there. And I think that's what you need to do is like, is it possible for you to introduce what you do and what your value is in that very short, simple way. So the step three is be authentic. People can spot a fake a mile away. I've learned that now. So, you know, so be real and genuine, share your story, share your struggles, share your successes. And authenticity resonates with people and builds deeper connections. You know, don't try and put on a persona, you know, be yourself, talk the way you normally would. And that is going to resonate with people much better than some kind of scripted, you know, spiel. So that was part two on why it's important to have a strong personal brand. I hope you enjoyed that. Now in the next part, I'm going to actually talk strategies and why content is king. I'm Bobby Baskaran. I'll see you there.
